Assets…

I was recently in Southern Utah where there are these beautiful slot canyons. I took so many pictures of the beautiful rock formations, the curves and grooves that occurred over years of water running through them. One thing that continually fascinated me was to be in the cool shade, sometimes dark trail and look up to see the sun shining brightly on the upper portions of the canyon. That contrast was so beautiful to me.

I was given the challenge to write down 100 assets I have and it was hard. I am so used to looking at my “darkness”, my perceived imperfections rather than appreciating the uniqueness that is me. I forget to notice that beauty and contrast that lies within myself that I so easily see in nature. I see flaws rather than assets.
