Do you want to be healed…

I watched an episode of The Chosen where Jesus heals the lame man at the pools of Bethsaida . He asks the man if he wants to be healed, and the man tells Jesus how he has no one to help him get to the water and how the others will step in front of him when he gets close. Jesus hears the man with compassion, then says he’s not asking about who is helping him or getting in his way, he’s asking about him. Jesus reminds him that the pool has nothing for him, but he’s still there, why? He says, “You don’t need this pool, you only need Me.”, then askes again if he wants to be healed.

Yesterday and this morning I was feeling pretty bad about myself. Feeling like I would never heal, never progress. Feeling stuck in patterns that felt way to big and heavy and old to change. In my church we can ask for blessings. These are prayers where Heavenly Father speaks through the person giving them. As my nephew laid his hands on my head I spoke with Father, saying I didn’t know if I could believe that he sees me. Then Dallin spoke about how much Heavenly Father and Jesus love me, that they want me to work on feeling Their love for me. That They are aware of the challenges I’m facing. To focus on the blessings in my life.

Do you want to be healed? That was the blessing. Did I want to stop telling the sad story of not being helped or supported or appreciated, and simply receive Their love. Simply receive the healing that I was ready for.

God is so, so good. He has compassion and patience for me. I am eternally thankful.
